Dear Glee,

Suggesting bisexuality isn’t real is exactly the same as straight people saying homosexuality is a choice and therefore not real.

In a week.

So. For half term, I have to do the following, despite my desperate need for a break:

  • Revise until I can move from 29% to at least 40-50% in my C1 mock.
  • Bake cakes for my lovely friend who is helping me not fail (considering I always eat his food when I go over)
  • Pretty much finish my back-up work for photography
  • Complete my 172 mark economics essay
  • Consider writing my history essay
  • Save for World Challenge gig
  • Get new back pack
  • Save money for new backpack, considering accessorize only stock the one I want online, not in the Reading shop
  • Write a letter for the law firm I want to do work experience for in the summer
  • Does chores every day
  • Sleep
  • Consider suicide
  • Maintain a social life
  • Not go crazy.

FML.

Open both tabs. Then lay on bed, and act like you're in a sad music video. Just do it.

Day 6: A song that reminds you of a best friend.

My lovely friend Amanda. She always has this song in her head.

Teenage Dream Darren Criss & The Dalton Academy Warblers

Day 5: A song that is often stuck in your head.

Teenage Dream. The Darren Criss version. It’s such a happy song, which he sings significantly better. It can always make me smile and it tends to get stuck in my head a lot.

Sausalito Conor Oberst

Day 4: A song that calms you down.

Unsurprisingly, this is Conor. I think he’s wonderful. I usually don’t like his country stuff but this is wonderful.

Playing God Paramore

Day 3: A song that reminds you of one/both of your parents.

Playing God by Paramore is my relationship with my mother. Overused song but it’s overused for a reason. She is literally that impossible.

Day 2: A song that reminds you of your most recent ex-boyfriend.

Very difficult, considering how weird my last relationship was. No song every really fitted it and I dunno if that’s a good thing or not. Nonetheless, at want of a better song, I’ve decided to choose Katy Perry, believe it or not. Because this song reminded me of his amazing reliableness, especially in the last few weeks of our relationship and what was ultimately the final nail in the coffin.

Also, he would have hated this song. :’)

Ladder In My Tights Amy Studt

Day 1: A song from your childhood.

While I was being bullied in primary school, this was the song for me. It made me feel a little better.

Thatcher Fucked the Kids Frank Turner

Whatever happened to childhood?
We’re all scared of the kids in our neighboorhood;
They’re not small, charming and harmless,
They’re a violent bunch of bastard little shits.
And anyone who looks younger than me
Makes me check for my wallet, my phone and my keys,
And I’m tired of being tired out,
Always being on the lookout for thieving gits.

We’re all wondering how we ended up so scared;
We spent ten long years teaching our kids not to care
And that “there’s no such thing as society”, anyway,
And all the rich folks act surprised
When all sense of community dies,

But you just closed your eyes to the other side                                               Of all the things that she did.
Thatcher fucked the kids.

And it seems a little bit rich to me,
The way the rich only ever talk of charity;
In times like the seventies, the broken down economy
Meant even the upper tier was needing some help.
But as soon as things look brighter,
Yeah the grin gets wider and the grip gets tighter,
And for every teenage tracksuit mugger,
There’s a guy in a suit who wouldn’t lift a finger for anybody else.

You’ve got a generation raised on the welfare state,
Enjoyed all its benefits and did just great,
But as soon as they were settled as the richest of the rich,
They kicked away the ladder, told the rest of us that life’s a bitch.
And it’s no surprise that all the fuck-ups
Didn’t show up until the kids had grown up.
But when no one ever smiles or ever helps a stranger,
Is it any fucking wonder our society’s in danger of collapse?

So, all the kids are bastards,
But don’t blame them, yeah, they learn by example.
Blame the folks who sold the future for the highest bid:
That’s right, Thatcher fucked the kids.

I’ve been discussing lack of workers rights and general attitude of society today with three different people. I thought of this song.

“It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I’m right.” —

~ Moliere

That quote just summarises my life and therefore my personality.

Feb 5, 2011

I will freely admit that I have never been broken up with.

I’ve broken up with three guys and I’ve never done it well (is there such a thing?).

I know I hurt two of them and I regret it, especially the first.

So, watching my friend’s heart break and not knowing what to say completely kills me.

And so, my dear, you know if you need to talk, I will stay up until 8am chatting to you, even if I’ve to go to school in half an hour.

You know I love you. <3
